From 2005 to 2011, LRE represented the City of Brighton as a participant in the Chatfield Reservoir Reallocation Project. After Brighton elected to end its participation in the project, LRE worked for the non-federal project sponsor, the State of Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist with NEPA and 404 permitting issues. The project purpose was to evaluate the feasibility and environmental impacts of reallocating a portion of the flood storage space in the existing Chatfield Reservoir to municipal water supply. The Corps recently issued a Record of Decision. LRE recently was hired by the newly-formed Chatfield Reservoir Mitigation Company (CRMC) as part of CRMC’s Project Management Team. LRE will be assisting the CRMC to implement the environmental mitigation and recreational modifications, as required by the Corps’ ROD and the State Wildlife Commission’s “Fish, Wildlife and Recreation Mitigation Plan”. LRE has the task lead for both procurement and permitting.
