Janet has always been fascinated with water – the stuff we swim in, ski on, paint pictures of, and derive life from. She feels very fortunate to have a career that connects her nerdy technical abilities with her love of water. She finds it rewarding to create workable solutions when multiple entities are clamoring for the same limited resource. Janet initially joined LRE in 1982, took a seven-year hiatus to begin raising three great kids and teach some piano lessons, and then returned to LRE where she is now a Principal Shareholder and Senior Project Manager. Her expertise is in water rights and water resources analyses, planning, and management. This includes historical use analyses for water court change cases, development of plans for augmentation and exchanges, expert testimony and litigation support, water supply planning, hydrologic analyses and yield studies, reservoir and water system operations and modeling, and water rights appraisals. She has contributed to the water community through presentations for continuing education programs and through assistance with drafting and support of water-related legislation. Janet has a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, is registered as a Professional Engineer in Colorado and Wyoming, and has an Expert Witness Certification from the American Council of Engineering Companies. Outside of work, Janet loves mountain biking, making music, and nature photography.
