Water Quality and Regulatory Assistance

LRE provides ongoing environmental, water quality, and regulatory assistance to the Eagle River Water & Sanitation District for a wide range of permitting and regulatory compliance processes.  Examples of tasks are listed below (note that tasks change based on changing immediate and long-term needs):

  • Review and tracking of Water Quality Control Commission (WQCC) regulations to determine potential impacts to the ERWSD’s business and/or operations processes
  • Periodic updates of information regarding proposed changes to regulations
  • Recommendations regarding District participation in rulemaking processes
  • Assistance in developing strategies to comply with regulations
  • Participation in Water Quality Control Division Workgroups to keep track of, and influence, policy and guidance document development
  • Preparation of environmental permit applications
  • Continuous assistance to ERWSD staff concerning sampling, reporting, water quality standards, antidegradation, mixing zones, WWTF discharge permits, 404 permits, 1041 permits, and other permitting and regulatory compliance needs
