Stephen recently joined Leonard Rice Engineers in the industrial water group. He specializes in water and wastewater treatment, water reuse, and water planning for the oil and gas, mining, and manufacturing industries. He is passionate about finding creative environmental solutions, and this passion has taken him around the world: from measuring hydrocarbon concentrations on Greenland’s ice sheet to presenting oilfield water management strategies in Australia. He has also developed software solutions to assist oil and gas operators in estimating flowback and produced water volumes and provide decision support tools to optimize water planning and reuse in unconventional oil and gas fields. Stephen earned a PhD and MS in civil and environmental engineering from Colorado State University and a BS in mechanical engineering with a minor in applied mathematics from the University of Colorado.
